Many K-pop entertainment companies attempt to launch idol groups, but while some became successful, others failed due to unforeseen situations. Here are some K-pop groups that were formed and their debut wasn't pushed through.

Out of all the BIGBANG members, G-Dragon and Taeyang are the members that trained the longest. These two practically grew up together and were told that they would debut as a hip hop duo.

However, Yang Hyun Suk changed his mind and decided to debut them along with other trainees as an idol group called BIGBANG. G-Dragon was opposed to this idea, as his duo debut with Taeyang was called off. But GD ultimately established friendship with the other BIGBANG members.

Sparkling was a pre-debut girl group that Rurulala Entertainment formed. The company first revealed the three members of the group, then announced an audition, where additional members of the team will be chosen.

But then, no further updates were given and Sparkling's social media accounts were deleted, implying that their debut will not take place as planned.

Twinkle

Twinkle is another pre-debut girl group whose debut got canceled. It was a team formed by Elephant Entertainment in April 2016 and consisted of seven trainees namely Dohee, Sol-E, Sujin, Areum, Junhee, Sunyul, and Eunbyeol.

However, after July, no further announcements were made regarding their debut, and all their SNS accounts went inactive. Hence, it is presumed that Twinkle will no longer be launched.

PlayM BOYS (formerly known as FAVEBOYS)

Play M Entertainment was supposed to debut a boy group, which was called PlayM BOYS during their pre-debut days. It was composed of six trainees, such as Doyum, Jinsung, Jimin, Seunghwan, Byeonghee, and Hyeongbin.

However, Hyeongbin, Jinsung, and Seunghwan left the group and the company in 2020, and PlayM BOYS' SNS accounts were deleted sometime in 2021. The three remaining members eventually departed from the agency and moved to BlueDot Entertainment, where they debuted as JUST B members.

All-S Company was planning to debut its first girl group, tentatively called ALLS-GIRL. Six trainees were introduced as the members of the team, such as Ria, Yeonchae, Yujin, Karam, Yuha, and Seoyoung. The sextet was expected to debut sometime in 2019, but the supposed members left the agency separately, resulting in the group's debut to be canceled.

B.O.i

B.O.i was a pre-debut boy group under M.fel Entertainment, consisting of five trainees namely Noah, Dal, Han.S, Luxin, and Joon Hyeo. Ahead of debut, the quintet dropped a pre-release digital single "Please Find Her" on Aug. 22, 2013. Since then, no teasers were revealed for the boy group's debut.

Star Entertainment and ONO Entertainment jointly formed the pre-debut girl group ONO GIRLZ. Initially called BLACKMAMBA, the group was set to debut in April 2018, however their launch was delayed due to lineup changes. Their debut is assumed to have been scrapped since there have been no new updates since 2020, and all SNS content have been deleted.
