Apple WWDC 2013: Al Gore Spotted At Tech Giant’s Annual Developers’ Conference

Former vice president and Apple board member Al Gore was seen chatting with Apple CEO Tim Cook moments before the Apple CEO took the stage for his keynote speech.

A photo posted by Tech Crunch showed the two leaders relaxed and casual before the start of WWDC.

Last month, Bloomberg reported that Al Gore exercised his Apple options, at $7.48 a share, on 59,000 shares. He was granted the options for serving on the Cupertino, California-based company since 2003.

On paper, he claimed a total of $30 million, based on the company’s share price the day he claimed the options.

The 59,000 shares Gore cashed out is part of the 101,358 Apple options and shares of restricted stock Gore has amassed, based on company filings as reported by Bloomberg. His total holdings have a gross value of more than $45.6 million.

Greenbiz reported that Al Gore, Eric Schmidt and other experts recently packed a room at Google to discuss the Internet’s environmental impact last Thursday.

Al Gore delivered the keynote address for the Google event.

The politician-turned activist was also present at the 2008 WWDC.

The WWDC is Apple’s annual gathering of developers who code apps for the company’s platforms. It will be held in San Francisco from June 10-14. On it’s website, Apple describes that the WWDC is where you can learn how to take your apps to the next level.

The five-day confab draws more than 5,000 developers is usually a showcase of Apple’s software.
