BLINKs are asking this music critic to apologize to both BLACKPINK Jisoo and Lisa for the content of their article. Here's what happened.
On July 12, BLINKs (BLACKPINK fandom) expressed their displeasure to an article released by Rolling Stone Korea on July 5, belatedly shared to the public on the 11th through Twitter.
BLINKs Demand Apology From Rolling Stone Korea for THIS Reason
The article praised BLACKPINK member's physical appearances and skills, but fans complained about a certain description that music critic Kim Young Dae said about Jisoo. In the original article, the critic wrote:
"Although she does not possess the most outstanding talent in the group as a vocalist or dancer, her growth is more apparent."
Apparently, Kim wanted to highlight the growth of Jisoo over the years. Instead, he compared the idol's skills to other members and allegedly undermined her capabilities.
As soon as the article was released, BLINKs took to Twitter and other social media platforms to call for an apology from Rolling Stone Korea and Kim Young Dae.
They defended Jisoo by emphasizing her singing and dancing skills, saying:
"Jisoo is one of the most talented idols in the industry. Her voice is distinctive, and her dancing is flawless."
What a sloppy phrase. This article was supposed to praise Blackpink rather than criticize one of their members. Jisoo is one of the most talented idols in the industry. Her voice is distinctive, and her dancing is flawless.

Jisoo is the most stable vocalist in blackpink, never seen slacking on stage, has smooth moves and executes the choreography really well, and has always been the harmonizer of the group which made blackpink's songs the songs that they are today.

She always have doubts about herself because of people like you @toojazzy25. I will never doubt jisoo’s outstanding talents and I bet that her more than 62.1M fan also disagree with what you said. Apologize!

K-pop fans also accused the critic of being "unprofessional" and "disrespectful." Soon enough, phrases "APOLOGIZE TO JISOO" and "RESPECT JISOO" climbed on Twitter's real-time trends under the category K-pop.
BLINKs Also Asks For Magazine, Music Critic's Apology to Lisa and Rosé
The article didn't only experience backlash for their description to Jisoo, but also for the words they associated with members Lisa and Rosé.
In the article, Kim talked about Lisa having an "exotic appearance" and her (Korean) pronunciation which is "natural enough to prevent the listeners from sensing any kinks from the foreign member of the group.
Fans then accused the author of being racist for using the word "exotic."
using ‘EXOTIC’ just because she’s a foreigner? what is this? the racism? as if the h*te she receives daily on social media wasn’t enough, this is embarrassing and so unprofessional.

.@rollingstonekor that in addition to belittling Jisoo as an artist, they were xenophobic towards Lisa. What kind of people are working here? what a lack of professionalism. We repudiate these attitudes of offending an artist. inadmissible!

They also questioned the critic for mentioning her pronunciation among achievements Lisa created they could have talked about.
Fans were also disappointed when the critic wrote, "BLACKPINK may not be the most technical vocalists in the K-pop scene," when the group has Rosé.
Instead, the article limited Rosé's vocals to being distinct for her "nasal sound" when she got one of the golden vocals in Korea acknowledged by top singers and professionals around the world.
this article is embarrassing, whoever wrote this should be ashamed and embarrassed, you had ONE job, my girl ROSÉ deserves so much better than this.

RESPECT ROSÉ

Along with Jisoo's Twitter phrases, "APOLOGIZE TO LISA," "APOLOGIZE TO ROSÉ," "RESPECT LISA" and "RESPECT ROSÉ" also trended.
Yeah, so… racist and misogynistic much, @rollingstonekor? The edit doesn’t actually help that much, in terms of Jisoo, and the comment about Lisa? You should apologize to both. And try not to be so close-minded.
