WWDC 2013 News: Apple’s OS X Mavericks Unveiled, New ‘Tagging’ Features Excite The Audience

The latest version of Apple's OS X is revealed during the WWDC 2013 event and it is called OS X Mavericks

According to Apple CEO, Tim Cook, who took the stage to kick off WWDC 2013, 28 million users are now using Mountain Lion and he also pointed out that the newest operating system from Microsoft, the Windows 8 is currently struggling. Craig Federighi was then introduced to talk about the newest operating system for Macbooks, the OS X Mavericks. He also shared about how they had troubled creating a name for the latest OS X since they have run out of names already for big cats.

During the WWDC 2013 currently happening today, some of the new features for OS X Mavericks are revealed. The latest system from Apple will have a new offering for Tagging. According to Federighi, users can now add Tags to documents on their Mac, whether they are from an iCloud or an iOS device. The Finder will search for the documents. Furthermore, users can drag items now into a tag window where they can put the tag. Colors can also be added to the tag and this feature seemed to make many people from the audience excited.

Another new feature for OS X Mavericks shown at Apple's WWDC 2013 is its AirPlay-connected HDTV. It is a full power display and Mac users can connect HDTV via AirPlay, allowing them to look at multiple tabs drag files and apps and open them to Apple TV.

Users of OS X Mavericks can now get menu across multiple displays, according to Federighi's announcements during the WWDC 2013. When panning spaces, Mac users can do them independently of each of the display screen. Various apps can be placed in full screen mode without having to worry about the space of the screen. Furthermore, OS X Mavericks users can now drag a full screen app from a certain display to another.
