Girls' Generation Sooyoung Reveals One Thing She Lost After Getting COVID-19
Recently, Girls' Generation members Sooyoung and YoonA visited a flower shop to make a small flower garden at home in the August 16 broadcast of JTBC's variety program Soshi TamTam, which is a reality show featuring all eight members of Girls' Generation.
In this episode, a florist had introduced Sooyoung and YoonA to the different types of flowers that they have. In particular, the florist showed them a flower called blue sage.
Regarding the blue sage, the florist described it as a delicate flower, although it is similar to lavender. "Blue sage gives off a scent that is similar to that of lavender. But it is much more delicate," the florist said.
The florist then handed the blue sage to YoonA to give her a closer look. Upon taking the flower, YoonA smelt it and said, "Oh yes, it is more delicate for sure."
YoonA then passed it on to Sooyoung, who also took a whiff of the flower. However, upon smelling it, she instantly frowned as she couldn't smell anything.
Sooyoung then tried smelling it numerous times to try and get a scent. She even asked YoonA, "Is there really a scent that you can smell from the flower?"

To this, YoonA said that the blue sage had a scent, making Sooyoung even sadder at not being able to smell it. She added, "I think I have lost my sense of smell after [getting] COVID-19."
Sooyoung then tried her best getting at least a hint of a scent from the flower. "Does this really have a lavender-like scent? Really? I can't smell anything! Seriously, I am so sad. It is actually really upsetting," Sooyoung said sadly.
As the rest of the Girls' Generation members saw this scene play out when they watched it together, they expressed their sadness at Sooyoung still suffering from the effect of having tested positive for COVID-19.

The members also tried comforting Sooyoung, saying that it won't be long until she finally recovers her sense of smell. Yuri said, "It would come back soon, wouldn't it?"
Seohyun added, "Yes, yes. Don't worry. [Your smell] will be recovered soon, eonnie."
In response to this, Sooyoung can only bitterly smile and have hope that her sense of smell will return soon.
What is 'Soshi TamTam'?
In August 2022, Girls' Generation celebrated their 15th anniversary since making their debut back in 2007. To commemorate the anniversary, JTBC launched the group's very own reality program called Soshi TamTam, which features all eight of the members.
In this series, the members would partake in numerous things, such as playing games, cooking, and more, and a talk show and documentary format.
The show is currently being aired on JTBC.
