TWICE Drops 'Between 1&2' Concept Photos, Members' Visuals Receive Praises
On August 17, JYP Entertainment posted a total of 10 individual teasers and group photos on its official SNS channel. All give a glimpse of the concept of TWICE's much-anticipated 11th mini-album," Between 1&2."
In the released photos, the nine members showed off their mysterious and sexy charms, particularly through their individual images.
In fact, they exhibited an impressive "visual attack," a common expression in K-pop used to describe how they fill the camera with their prominent appearance and features.

Ultimately, it created an atmosphere where fascinating eyes and charisma were felt. K-pop fans, especially ONCEs (TWICE fandom) were not only impressed by their visuals, but by their bold outfits, as well as introducing shoulder holsters and lingerie-like tops and shorts.
Among the members, Mina and Chaeyoung particularly stood out. In the past, the two mainly enjoyed innocent and refreshing concepts. This time around, they presented an unconventional concept: clad in a lingerie-esque 'fit, garter belt, and leather boots that all in all scream "femme fatale."
Mina wore tops and short pants, reminiscent of lingerie to expose herself to high levels. Chaeyoung, on the other hand, emphasized her sexy visuals with her mesh stockings and high heels.
Sana also gained interest in showing her chest bone. Nayeon didn't fail to catch the eyes of fans, as well by emphasizing her overall curves with a tight-fitting dress.
TWICE's 'Between 1&2' Concept Photos Earn Mixed Opinions - But Why?
Unfortunately, not everyone is pleased by TWICE's mature-looking concept images. Over various social media platforms, some were quoted, saying:
"It is a concept that goes against the times."
People also pointed out sensationalism with responses such as:
- "Put on-stage costumes, not underwear."
- "What's with the garter belt?"
- "Sexualization is too severe."
- "Can we not do this?"
Thankfully, a lot of fans and supporters still expressed positive comments, such as:
- "If the members didn't like it, they would have refused."
- "The members may have wanted to change their bright concept, I like it."
- "What's wrong? They are not minors. "
- "I'm looking forward to it because it's different from before."
Meanwhile, TWICE's new mini-album "Between 1&2" will feature its title track, "Talk that Talk," which will hit the listener's taste with an addictive melody on a strong beat. It is scheduled to be officially released at 1 p.m. KST on August 26.
On August 18, TWICE released the second set of its concept photos introducing 10 additional teaser images that highlight the group's unique fresh energy.
Contrary to the mixed reviews in their first concept photos, people reacted positively this time.
In the photos, the nine members conveyed excitement to the viewers with their bright smiles and dazzling eyes. Pastel-toned costumes created a lovely atmosphere, and stimulated curiosity about the meaning of items featured in the photos, such as stuffed animals, fruits, and watches.
