TXT’s ‘GOOD BOY GONE BAD’ Reclaims #1 on Oricon + Sets New Record on Billboard Japan

TXT's "GOOD BOY GONE BAD" has made its way back to the top of the Oricon Singles Chart. It also debuted on Billboard Japan's latest weekly album chart and even set a new record for the boy group in terms of first-week sales.

According to the latest Oricon Daily Singles chart (dated Sept. 4), TXT's "GOOD BOY GONE BAD" has gone back to the top spot with a total of 13,292 copies sold.

The single album has been alternately ranking first and second on the Japanese singles chart since it was released on Aug. 31. It first entered at No. 2 on the chart dated Aug. 30 and remained there for three consecutive days until Sept. 1. It then climbed to No. 1 on the chart dated Sept. 2, and later went down to the second spot on the following day.

In six days of its release, TXT's "GOOD BOY GONE BAD" Japanese album has sold 367,937 copies in Japan.

Additionally, the Japanese version of the group's Korean hit title song "GOOD BOY GONE BAD" has now spent 150 hours at No. 1 on Line Music's real-time chart- tying with TWICE's "Kura Kura" as the eighth song by a Korean artist in history with the most hours atop the chart.

"GOOD BOY GONE BAD" constantly ranks first place on the tally, so it's anticipated whether it would be the new TXT song with the most hours at No. 1 on Line Music's real-time chart. The current record holder is their Japanese OST "Ring," which recorded 158 hours.

To date, only "GOOD BOY GONE BAD" and "Ring" are TXT's only songs to spend 150 hours on Line Music's real-time chart.

Furthermore, TXT's "GOOD BOY GONE BAD" (Japanese ver.) has now remained at No. 1 on Line Music's Daily Top 100 for six days in a row- tying with the group's own "0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)" as their second song with most days at No. 1 on the said chart.

Another impressive milestone of TXT with their "GOOD BOY GONE BAD" Japanese album is that they broke their first-week sales record on Billboard Japan.

Billboard Japan officially announced on Sept. 5 that TXT's "GOOD BOY GONE BAD" debuted at No. 2 on its Top Singles Sales chart for the week Aug. 29 to Sept. 4. The single album sold an impressive total of 501,323 copies in the said week.

"MAGIC HOUR" released in January 2020 and "DRAMA" released in November of the same year sold 98,830 copies and 110,286 copies, respectively. This only means that the quintet has renewed their own highest first-week sales and even became a half-million seller in just five days since its release on Aug. 31. This goes to show how much TXT's popularity in Japan has grown.

Meanwhile, TXT has recently wrapped up their two-night concert in Osaka, Japan as part of their "ACT: LOVE SICK" world tour. They are scheduled to hold another two-night show on Sept. 7 and 8 in Chiba at Makuhari Event Hall.

After completing the Japan leg of their tour, the boy group will hold more concerts in other countries in Asia, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand.
