Starship Entertainment CEO Wasn't Satisfied With IVE's 'ELEVEN,' According to Producer
On Sept 6, the "OK POP!!" YouTube channel uploaded a new video, which is an interview with top K-pop producer Ryan Jhun. The producer shared some behind-the-scenes stories about the hit songs he made in the past.
Many of the tracks he produced made it to the Circle Chart (formerly called the Gaon Chart), and one of them is IVE's "ELEVEN" which became an instant hit. IVE is Starship Entertainment's new girl group and the company's first one in six years since WJSN in 2016.

To recall, "ELEVEN" steadily rose on domestic charts following its release on Dec. 1. It also took home a total of 13 music show trophies, with their 13th win being in February this year. With this, IVE achieved multiple historic milestones.
What's more, the music video for "ELEVEN" currently holds the title of third-fastest K-pop group debut MV to gain 100 million views on YouTube in history.
During the interview with "OK POP!!," producer Ryan Jhun revealed that he has been wanting to do Bollywood, and co-producers LostBoy and Lauren Aquilina that helped bring out the Bollywood vibe in IVE's "ELEVEN."

He then said that they put a lot of effort into producing the song and Starship Entertainment recognized that. He added that the production crew really liked it. But while the employees approved the track, Starship Entertainment's CEO was unsatisfied with IVE's "ELEVEN. Ryan Jhun said that the CEO Kim Sidae nitpicked a lot.
The producer went on to say, "The key was a bit high and I was concerned how they (IVE) would be able to pull it off. Apparently, everyone had doubts because it was their debut song after all."

"I didn't have the members' data, but they eventually pulled it off. The part where they sang 'My heart was so colorful' is explosive. We mixed the songs and were mind-blown while listening to the song."
Ryan Jhun continued to praise the IVE members, commenting, "Wonyoung has improved a lot. It's not that she's only got taller but her voice is getting better too. All members did well on their own portion. Yujin did a great job with her part. She was the support behind the team."
On the online forum The Qoo, here's what netizens are saying after finding out that Starship Entertainment's CEO wasn't fully satisfied with IVE's "ELEVEN":

IVE Earns 5th Music Show Trophy for 'After LIKE'
In other news, IVE once again bagged a music trophy for their latest comeback song "After LIKE."
On the Sept. 6 episode of "The Show," IVE's "After LIKE" was nominated for first place alongside Billlie's "RING ma Bell (what a wonderful world)" and TEMPEST's "Can't Stop Shining." IVE eventually took the win with a total of 7,403 points, marking their fifth victory with "After LIKE."
