NCT 127, who recently visited a famous bakery in Korea to buy bread heard fans sigh and lament after failing to do THIS. What exactly happened?
Koreans Upset After NCT 127 Failed to Buy Famous Bakery's 'Signature Bread'
On September 18, NCT 127 updated its official Twitter account with Doyoung, Mark and Jungwoo's individual photos which seemed to be captured at Daejeon.
In particular, the group released their new album, "2 Baddies," on September 16. To commemorate it, NCT 127 embarked on fan signing events in Busan, Gwangju and Daegu. The caption written said:
“In Daejeon #Sungsimdang. See you soon."
In the photos, the three idols showed off their bread, which seemed to have been bought at Sungsimdang. While people reacted positively and praised the visuals of the members, Korean fans felt regretful after seeing the photos.
One major reason was that NCT 127 failed to buy the famous bread, which was only known and exclusive in Sungsimdang. Many fans were disappointed as if it was their job, saying:
"They went to Sungsimdang but just bought twisted bread sticks and mocha buns."
Although it's the members' choice to pick the bread that they'd like to eat, Korean fans clarified that if you are going to Daejeon, it's a must to choose "signature bread" available in the bakery only. Fans living in Daejeon even recommended menus by hand, saying:
"If you come to Sungsimdang, you have to buy Bomunsan echoes, ink bats, and pollack baguette."
Another reason why fans were "upset" was because of the location that they visited, which is the Daejeon Convention Center branch of Sungsimdang, its smallest branch.
- "I can't see the bread said to be most famous in Sungsimdang in their tray."
- "Ha, I'm really disappointed. Going to that branch is already upsetting, but they also bought those bread."
- "Come to Daejeon again, I'm going to buy you 'real' bread."
- "This is funny yet upsetting."
- "Who buys twisted bread sticks and mocha buns in Sungsimdang? This is no different from buying from a local bakery. It's unimaginable for women to like men with an empty refrigerator."
One fan then defended the members and claimed that although the branch is the smallest store, bread from there is often sold out, and that was why NCT 127 only bought those bread.
Story About NCT 127 Being 'Small Eaters' Resurfaces
On the other hand, some K-pop fans are guessing that NCT 127 bought the food that they really wanted and could only take. In particular, the members are known for being "small eaters."
During their past broadcasts, they showed this attribute a couple of times, such as when they left two plates of spicy stir-fried chicken during a get-together, not to mention how NCT 127 complained that five bags of ramen were too many for seven members.
