BLACKPINK Makes History Anew as "BORN PINK" Debuts at #1 on Billboard 200

On Sept. 25, local time, Billboard officially announced that BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK" had debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200, the chart that ranks the most popular albums in the United States based on album sales (both retail and digital).

With that, BLACKPINK is now the very first female K-pop artist to claim No. 1 on Billboard 200- as well as the first-ever all-female group from any country to top the chart since 2008 (when Danity Kane's "Welcome to the Dollhouse" debuted at No. 1).

Also, "BORN PINK" is the only second album by a female artist released in 2022 to top the Billboard 200 (the first one was Beyonce's "RENAISSANCE."

The album's total figure comprises 75,500 traditional album sales-achieving the seventh-biggest first-week sales in the U.S of any album released in 2022- and 25,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, which translates to 37.49 million on-demand audio streams over the course of the week.

Moreover, BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK" earned 1,500 track equivalent album (TEA) in its first week.

"BORN PINK" is now BLACKPINK's second top 10 album on Billboard 200 following "THE ALBUM" (which peaked at No. 2 back in 2020), as well as the group's fourth overall entry on the list. The quartet's other two albums to make the chart are "SQUARE UP" and "Kill This Love."
