On September 25, BLACKPINK had its first and last promotional stage for its latest release, "Shut Down," the title track of its second full-length album, "BORN PINK" on SBS's "Inkigayo."
On that day, the quartet comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa excite fans around the world with their overwhelming charisma and dominance during the performance.
Following the stage, the music show nominated BLACKPINK's pre-release track, "Pink Venom" and "Shut Down" as top candidates for first place song, competing against IVE's "After LIKE."
In the end, BLACKPINK took home the first-place trophy with its song, "Pink Venom," topping the list for three consecutive weeks and snagged a triple crown.
BLACKPINK's Stylist Earns Criticisms For Quartet's 'Incoherent' Stage Outfits
Following the broadcast, K-pop fans especially BLINKs (BLACKPINK fandom) rejoiced in the group comeback's achievements, after returning to the music scene in about two years since its first studio album, "THE ALBUM," released in October 2020.
However, internet users expressed different opinions, pointing out BLACKPINK's frustrating comeback outfits.
As this was the first and last stage for "Shut Down" BLACKPINK will present on a Korean music program, netizens and music enthusiasts had high expectations not only for their stage but as well as the costumes that they will showcase.
In the past, the four-member group created various fashion trends, thanks to the influence of the outfits they flaunted in music shows.
But this time, people are disappointed after seeing BLACKPINK's individual outfits, implying that its quality didn't surpass or even meet their anticipation.
Netizens emphasized that the outfits they have worn were no different from their past costumes, to the point they can't even tell which era they wore them if will look at BLACKPINK's past group photos.
A lot of web users criticized their stylist, who gave the group underwhelming clothes, that don't even complement each other's individual allure when together.

- "I thought they were promoting different songs at the same time."
Not only the clothes, but people also noticed that their makeup and hairstyles weren't anything new, unlike when they are promoting their first album and solo debuts.
Lastly, some K-Netz speculated that the cordi of the group is playing favorites, given how Jennie and Lisa have the most beautiful outfits among members during the stage. Lisa stood out with her sporty look, while Jennie shone with her uniform-inspired 'fit.
Compared to them, Jisoo wore a plain body suit, while Rosé was seen wearing an ordinary-looking cropped top without any accessories.
Undoubtedly, some fans defended BLACKPINK's stylist saying that the members themselves are actually the ones pursuing their own fashion preferences and styles.
However, people believe that they were currently promoting as a group; thus, they should also coordinate their outfits to look more like a team, rather than soloists.
