As many of you may know, MAMAMOO is coming back with four members this October. It has been more than a year since their last release "Mumumumuch" on September 15 of last year.
The vocal K-pop girl group is famous for its stage performances and powerhouse voices that can belt any song.
Before their comeback, let us have a look back at the times MAMAMOO members did not only slay the stage but also were very professional at handling unexpected situations.
MAMAMOO Moments On Stage: Mic Problems
MAMAMOO has been on many university festival performances. When I mean many, like really a lot. During their "Um Oh Ah Yeah" era, the members said in an "Immortal Songs 2" interview that they attend more than 3 a day.
As they do that, of course, technical issues are bound to happen. But MAMAMOO members are professional performers so they know what exactly needs to be done.
There are many instances when Wheein and Solar's mic was not working and Moonbyul was always there to give hers. Good thing that she is quick to think of solutions when it comes to stages like that.
MAMAMOO Live Performance Interruptions
One of the best examples of this scenario is their Japanese promotions. The members were performing the Japanese version of "Decalcomanie" and the music suddenly stopped. They did not even flinch when it happened. They continued performing like it was nothing.
Since they are known for being great vocalists, it is an easy feat for MAMAMOO to actually sing live and continue their performance. When the music was back on, it was like it did not stop in the first place as they were singing the correct lines.
When Another Song Plays Instead of What They Practiced
This time, Hwasa takes the spotlight because it's always her so is so ready to sing and perform like it was really the song they had in mind that would play next.
There were many instances that MAMAMOO thought they would be singing "Starry Night" and is in the position for it, but then "Decalcomanie" would start playing. Good thing they mostly sing live so a change of song is not a problem for them.
The "Maria" singer just struts her way to the front part of the stage like she knew the song will be played. Fans have always applauded her for that and for not being stunned by the situation.
MAMAMOO Hwasa's Wardrobe Malfunction
This very old video was from their "Um Oh Ah Yeah" era in 2015. They were performing their debut song "Mr. Ambiguous" when suddenly Hwasa's upper garments became undone. Good thing she immediately was aware of it and did not expose herself.
Wheein noticed it in time and immediately fixed it before it gets to the solo part. When you watch the video, it was really cool how she transitioned from being at the back quickly fixing Hwasa's top to singing her part as if nothing happened. A professional indeed.
MAMAMOO Lip Syncing
Many idols have done it before and so have MAMAMOO. Since they are known for always singing live, their lip-syncing is something new. And because they are professionals, they are doing it diligently even though they really find it hard.
It has become an inside joke in the fandom that MAMAMOO is terrible at lip-syncing, but I'd like to look at the positive side of it and say they are showing their utmost professionalism when doing it.
