The weather was wet and gloomy on the afternoon of Park Eun Bin's press conference, but the South Korean actress was a welcoming ray of warmth and sunshine.
Clad in an elegant black dress, nude Christian Louboutin heels and long, wavy hair, Park Eun Bin radiated grace and class as she appeared for the press conference ahead of her fan meet.
From the get-go, Park was enthusiastic to show off her newly learnt 'Singapore-English' (Singlish) lingo. "Nice to meet you...lah," the actress was all smiles as she greeted the reporters adorably, making the floor chuckle in amusement.
Throughout the 20-minute press conference, Park Eun Bin continued to insert the endearing "lah" into her English sentences.
"I'm happy lah," she emphasises in response to a question about how she feels about being able to meet fans from all around Asia for her fan meet tour, Eun Bin Note: Binkan. "It's my first fan meet, and lately I've been feeling a lot of love from fans that transcends borders."
Indeed, Park Eun Bin has become a hot fan-favorite after her powerful performance in Netflix drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', pushing the child actress to stardom after 27 years of working in the industry.
Park has tackled a large spectrum of roles before, including historical dramas (The King's Affection) and horror movies (The Witch: Part 2). When asked what genre she wishes to challenges herself with next, Park Eun Bin barely hesitates before announcing that she would like to experiment with Romantic Comedies, or Rom-Com for short.
In response to the emcee's compliment that she would fit the role of a rom-com female protagonist perfectly, the actress happily enthused, "Thank you lah!"
However, the actress also points out that she does not intentionally plan too far ahead into the future, as that often leads to expectations and induces unnecessary stress on herself. Instead, Park Eun Bin is content with just "being healthy and happy" in 2023, a goal that strongly resonated with all of us in the audience.
Despite the short duration of this press conference, Park awed us with the depth of her answers. In fact, her calm disposition is truly a reflection of her reflective philosophy towards life.
When asked about her university double degrees in Psychology and Communications, Park shares that she approaches her studies with the mindset of 'completing' herself. The 30-year-old yearns to learn not just about the 'actress Park Eun Bin', but the 'human' side of her. As such, she does not regret taking time off from acting to pursue her tertiary education.
However, Park Eun Bin still strives extremely hard in her career, evident through how she admits that she gains energy from work projects instead of breaks.
This is her first time in Singapore and she immediately uses "Shiok," to describe the experience, raising two thumbs-up excitedly. While she admits that she does not have much time to sightsee or try our local delicacies, she does look forward to her chilli crab lunch tomorrow. The celebrity also shares her desire to visit Universal Studies and Botanic Gardens.
Nonetheless, her presence in Singapore is creating a huge buzz amongst Singaporeans here, especially her fans (known as Bingos).
Park held her sold-out fan meet at the Capitol Theatre on November 11 8pm. You can look forward to a detailed fan-meet experience documented here on Kpopstarz.
