Megaman The Blue Bomber And The Villager From Animal Crossing Join Super Smash Bros. For Wii U And 3DS [VIDEO]

During the pre-E3 2013 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed that gaming icon Megaman would be joining the Super Smash Bros. franchise, as well as a character from Animal Crossing. The new Super Smash Bros. will debut on Wii U and 3DS game consoles in 2014.

Megaman debuted in a trailer shown during the conference, wearing his classic "Blue Bomber" attire, with Mega Buster, various Robot Master abilities, and his canine companion, Rush, according to IGN. The Blue Bomber has been a video game legend since the late 1980s, when he first appeared on the NES, The Christian Post reports.

According to The Epoch Times, fans are excited to see the classic character join the Super Smash Bros. game.

Audrey Drake tweeted: "Mega Man!! I've been asking for it so long I don't even know what to say. *tear*"

On a Facebook Megaman page, Stanley Baatjies posted, "My entire gaming life started with Megaman- Woooooow!!!"

During an opening trailer, another new character was introduced to Super Smash Bros. "The Villager" is a character inspired from the Nintendo game Animal Crossing. The Villager can dig pits to trap his enemies and chop down trees to damage them.

Both characters will be accompanied by stages from their franchises, IGN reports.

Super Smash Bros has become a favorite of Nintendo fans since its release on the N64, followed by "Super Smash Melee" on Gamecube and "Super Smash Brawl" on the Wii.

Another new character that will be added to the game is Wii Fit Trainer from "Wii Fit."

Nintendo also confirmed the return of many of its beloved classic characters to Super Smash Bros., including Mario, Samus Aran, Fox McCloud, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Pit, Bowser and Princess Peach.
