'BIGBANG practically made BTS': Suga Confesses Love For Role Model Group

When "King of K-pop" meets another "King"! In a broadcast, BTS Suga and BIGBANG Taeyang ended fan wars following their heartwarming interaction.

Suga Acknowledges BIGBANG's Impact on K-pop Scene, BTS' Career

On January 18, BIGBANG Taeyang, who made his comeback "Vibe" (feat. Jimin), appeared as a special guest on Suga's talk show "SuchWiTa" Episode 3.

In the video, the BTS rapper & producer met with the K-pop icon and held an interview.

In particular, even prior to introducing Taeyang, Suga had been feeling nervous and made a confession that he was actually a huge fan of the special guest!

"It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that BIGBANG practically made BTS. You were musicians that I aspired to be like as a kid."

Not only him, but the "Daechwita" singer also represented his co-members' love for the second-gen group.

"The guys (BTS members) all love you. When Jungkook turned 20, we went to karaoke and sang 'Bang Bang Bang' 100 times. We memorized all of the choreography. That's how much we love you."

Suga added how Jimin would study him and would do impression of him including the way he's talking.

With the idols' recent collab, it was truly a huge dream come true!

The "Moonlight" singer also cited one moment when BTS decided to follow in BIGBANG's footsteps as their role model.

"I remember during MAMA, BIGBANG had such a charismatic presence. We watched you like this... well... 'Let's become singers like them."

His praises for BIGBANG didn't stop there.

Despite BTS being the current "K-pop King" and "Biggest Boy Group in the World," Suga humbly recognized the impact of BIGBANG in the music scene and defined the group.

"BIGBANG is legendary... We can't talk about Korean music history without BIGBANG. You left a huge legacy. There are so many young singers running forward after watching you. So I hope that you keep on performing forever. Please don't retire."

Following the broadcast, K-pop fans are hoping that this will finally ease the tension between ARMY (BTS fandom) and VIP (BIGBANG fandom).

In the past years, discords happened between the two fandoms, debating who "paved the way" for K-pop and who deserves the moniker "King of K-pop" more.

But seeing how good and healthy the relationship between the two artists is, it's quite regretful not to see their fans getting along with each other well, too; thus, K-pop hope the "bad blood" between fandoms will be resolved.

BIGBANG Taeyang Shares Advice To BTS Suga

Hearing these words, Taeyang responded by saying, "I was grateful to hear that you liked us a lot," creating a warm atmosphere.

When the "Wedding Dress" singer confessed he actually had concerns about doing solo while working as BIGBANG, Suga also opened up about his worries working alone.

Taeyang then comforted him and made an advice from the standpoint of a senior.

"The team must come first and the members must come first. You shouldn't do anything to be on the team. In the end, I think all my solo activities should help the team in the end.

There are times when I can't do my solo activities well alone, but having a team to go back to is a great help, I don't think there's as much power as that if you take your relationship with the members healthy as now."
