HyunA, who has been silent about her supposed reunion with ex-boyfriend Dawn, reported her recent status.

On January 30, the idol took to Instagram to share her recent whereabouts. She posted a series of photos on the same day.

Among them, she drew massive interest from her followers for her new tattoo. HyunA then wrote the caption:

"Should I paint it or not?"

In the released photo, the singer showed off her bare back with her new tattoo. It's a lettering tattoo that occupies her shoulder blade, with the words "DDASA" and "KEEM."

The first word means "warm," while the latter is another way to write her last name, "Kim." The words were inside a circle, connecting to the letters "M" and "W."

In her other photos, HyunA showed pictures of ice cream, as well as her workout selfies.

Once again, she was lauded for her amazing physique. In the snaps, she was in a cropped shirt and leggings. Her outfit was completed by a rubber band tied to her stomach.

She impressed her followers by revealing solid abs and a lean waistline.

Netizens who saw her pictures commented, saying:

  • "You're cool unnie."
  • "Exercising Barbie doll."
  • "You're so pretty."
  • "Cute."

Despite initial positive feedback on her photos, some raised their brows when they saw HyunA's new tattoo.

People criticized the tattoo's design, which, according to them, is a "horrible mistake."

They went on by stating that it's like a "prison tattoo," doodled using a ballpoint pen by a child.

According to those who saw the tattoo, it looks "messy," "cheap" and "unflattering," regardless if it has a deep meaning or not.

  • "As much as I loved HyunA, this is seriously bad work."
  • "What the f**k is this?"
  • "Don't color it, have it removed please."
  • "She hit the wall."
  • "It looks like TWICE's logo, but this is a poorly drawn version."
  • "Are you trying to promote McDonald's?"

On the flip side, her fans defended the idol and explained that the design was supposed to look as it is. Those with knowledge of tattoo style will recognize this as the "ignorant style tattoo."

Such styles have all line work, no color and most of their designs were really simple.

HyunA's supporters then called out those who left malicious comments about the idol, stating that regardless of its appearance and meaning, the idol can do whatever with her body and she shouldn't be told by others what she can do or not.

On the other hand, HyunA has been making headlines with Dawn following claims that they reunited two months after breaking up.

They broke up in November 2022, five years after dating, just right after announcing their engagement.
