Sony Xperia Z Ultra Rumors: Leaked Photo Suggests Similar UI To Xperia Z, 6.44-Inch HD Display To Support Stylus Input [PHOTO]

A photo of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra has leaked following a teaser sent out by Sony in the form of a press invite in France.

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra, a phone-tablet (phablet), is scheduled to be revealed at an event in Paris on July 4. The press invitation for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra release shows one side of the device.

The image shows the Sony Xperia Z Ultra's slip profile, power/lock key, volume toggle, and the camera button, GSMArena reports.

Earlier today, French tech site Nowhereelse published a leaked image of the Sony device, which showed the big display screen turned on. The phablet looks like it will have a trio of on-screen buttons at the bottom of its HD display.

After some readers commented that the device in the leaked photo looked like the Sony Xperia ZR, GSM Arena noted that the phone in the photo looks larger than the ZR's 4.55 inches, suggesting that the leaked image does actually show the Xperia Z Ultra.

The specs of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra allegedly include a 6.44 inch 1080 pixel display, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2.2 megapixel front-facing camera for video calls. A microSD card slot will be able to allegedly support up to 32GB cards.

The Xperia Z Ultra is expected to run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean at its launch.

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra, like its predecessor the Xperia Z, is expected to be water and dust resistant. Rumors suggest that the screen display will support input from a pencil or stylus.

More information about the Xperia Z Ultra will be available on July 4 at its reveal event.
