At the Champs-Elysées Film Festival in Paris, Halle Berry's fiancé Olivier Martinez confirmed the couple is expecting a son.

"My son will be an American, but I remain French," Martinez said, referring to his unborn child as "son" for the first time in public.

"I remain a Frenchman in America, but I adapt to American culture," Martinez added. "I feel good there -- but I'm still a foreigner." Berry and Martinez enjoy spending quite a lot of time in his native France.

"My son will be an American," the proud soon-to-be father reiterated.

According to The Daily Mail, Halle is due to give birth this fall.

Berry, 46, and Martinez, 47, have been dating for over two years, The Huffington Post reports. Berry has a 5-year-old daughter, Nahla, with ex-boyfriend French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry.

Award-winning actress Halle has called her becoming pregnant at age 46 "a miracle," The Daily Mail reports.

"At 46, I didn't know if I'd be able to get pregnant again. Olivier and I have always wanted to be parents. But I didn't want to get my hopes up ... God made the dream come true," she said.

"This pregnancy is like a miracle for me, an amazing gift, because this child was as wished for as it was expected. It's like a renewal of life ... Good things happen too," she concluded.

While Nahla's mother and stepfather-to-be are in France, she is enjoying quality time with her father. Gabriel was spotted picking his daughter up from school on Wednesday.
