OUYA Attempts To Crash At E3 2013; $99 Game Console Coming In A Few Weeks

OUYA, an independent upcoming Android-based console launching in weeks, created a booth outside Los Angeles Convention Center during the E3 2013, which apparently ignited a conflict against the host and organizer of the event, the Entertainment Software Association.

According to a report from IGN, the Los Angeles Police Department was called to close down the console display of OUYA located in a lot across the street where E3 2013 was being held. June 11, at around 9 in the morning, ESA rented out the spaces in front of the booth of OUYA consoles and then parked semi-trucks in the area. So in response, OUYA team rented the spots in front of the trucks of ESA to display various banners. Julie Uhrman, the founder of OUYA console, then claimed that ESA called the police to get rid of their console display. Uhrman felt that ESA's move to rent out the area in front of their booth is an attempt to block people from seeing the presence of the $99 console.

ESA denied the accusation from OUYA that they called the police, according to Yahoo. Reportedly, when the police came to check OUYA, they took no action after looking into its permit and seeing that everything is in order.

OUYA will be launching at retail in a few weeks already, priced only at $99. The Android-based console was able to raise millions on Kickstarter for its funding. As the OUYA team proudly claims, every game is free to try with their game console. It runs on Tegra 3 processor, 1 GB RAM and is packed with 8GB storage. According to OUYA's official website, it already has 146 games that users can try for free.
