Microsoft Office iPhone App Is Finally Available But Requires $99.99 Office 365 Subscription

Microsoft office app for iPhone is finally here!  

The Microsoft Office iOS app for iPhones is finally coming, but user needs to be subscribed to Office 365, USA Today reported.

iPhone users with subscriptions to Office 365 are the ones who can only take advantage of the Office Mobile, an app which complements the full-fledged Microsoft Office software on a personal computer.

The Microsoft Office iPhone app is free to download but in order to employ Office on up to 5 PCs or Mac computer units, a yearly subscription to Office 365, worth $99.99 is necessary. For those without a subscription, users can easily purchase it from within the Microsoft Office iOS app.

Using the Microsoft Office app, iPhone users can access, view and edit documents from Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The iOS app from Microsoft also allows iPhone users to create new Excel and Word docs.

The Microsoft Office app for iPhones and iPads has Word templates for Outline, Report and Agenda. Furthermore, Excel templates included in the mobile app Event Schedule, Mileage Tracker and Budget.

According to Microsoft, as reported by USA Today, the files can be saved in the cloud such as the Microsoft's SkyDrive or the Skydrive Pro. From the Microsoft office app, iPhone users can send their files off as attachments. Furthermore, office content can be cached locally on the iPhone. Microsoft shares that when a Microsoft Office iPhone app user edit or add comments via mobile, every change made will be updated on the document saved on a Mac or a PC. A user can also review the comments or edits made by others on the phone, as well as when receiving the doc as email attachment.

Given the limited screen size of iPhone and other Apple devices, Microsoft Office iOS app has additional tools to make it easier for the users. For instance, there is a Slide Navigator the lets user to page through a PowerPoint presentation quickly. Speaker Notes from the Microsoft Office iPhone app gives the user a chance to practice his or her presentations conveniently while on the road.

There is no confirmed Microsoft Office app release date for iPad or Android devices, and it is also not clear whether Microsoft will be releasing app for these other mobile devices.
