Actress Song Ji Hyo and several former employees of Uzurocks, a prominent entertainment company, have taken a decisive step by filing a legal complaint against the former CEO, Mr. A. The complaint, lodged with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, accuses Mr. A of embezzlement and failing to pay employees their rightful wages.
Entertainment officials claim wage delays dating back to February, affecting approximately 70 employees and outsourcing companies.
The claims of other entertainment officers suggest that pay envelope detainments began as beforehand as February due to Mr. A's mishandling of large charges involved in promoting and producing systems.
A functionary said," Among the employees who left without receiving wages, some left the industry altogether, and some returned to work at other companies."
The complaint alleges that Mr. A embezzled funds from the company, resulting in severe financial difficulties. Moreover, it states that employees' wages were consistently delayed, causing significant financial strain and uncertainty in their lives.
Song Ji Hyo's Lawsuit and Legal Action
Last month, Song Ji Hyo took a significant step by filing an unpaid lawsuit against Mr. A, the former CEO of Uzurocks, and officially terminated her exclusive contract with the company. She is currently pursuing legal action to recover the unpaid amount owed to her.
To strengthen her case, Song Ji Hyo's legal representative confirmed that she lodged a complaint against Mr. A for violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement) with the Gangnam Police Station on May 23 KST.
The Plight of the Employees
Among those affected by the delayed wages are approximately 70 employees, including individuals working for outsourcing companies associated with Uzurocks.
These hardworking individuals have experienced the harsh reality of financial strain and uncertainty due to the non-payment of their salaries.
With bills to pay and responsibilities to meet, they have been left in a distressing predicament that has severely impacted their livelihoods.
The employees had hoped for a resolution but, after waiting for an extended period, felt compelled to take legal action to seek justice and hold the responsible parties accountable.
Song Ji Hyo Act of Generosity
Actress Song Ji Hyo has demonstrated an inspiring act of generosity by offering her own personal funds to assist employees who have been grappling with the consequences of wage delays.
Despite being owed a substantial amount herself, approximately 900 million won (around $707,324 USD), Song Ji Hyo selflessly extended a helping hand to those in need.
Additionally, she took charge of her on-site expenses, using her own money to prevent any further delays caused by delinquent card payments.
Investigation and Ongoing Legal Proceedings
Following the filing of the complaint, the Ministry of Employment and Labor has initiated an investigation into the matter.
Some employees have already undergone interviews and provided evidence to support their claims, while others are awaiting further communication from the ministry.
The investigation aims to uncover the truth behind the allegations and determine the appropriate course of action.
