On June 19, SM Entertainment released an update on the initial lawsuit filed by EXO-CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin).

SM Resolves Conflict With EXO-CBX: Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin To Stay in Company
SM Entertainment and EXO Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin, who were in a lawsuit battle over unfair contracts and profit distribution finally reached an agreement!
On June 19, SM, together with EXO-CBX, issued a joint statement announcing that they have smoothly agreed on the recent conflicts and misunderstandings.
"Recently, there was a situation in which our company and three artists continued to raise public issues from different perspectives. In this regard, we and the three artists sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people who support EXO.
Since then, we and the three artists have had enough time to discuss all the issues candidly. We are pleased to inform you that we have been able to resolve differences caused by misunderstandings and reach a smooth agreement, and we would like to express our summarized position as follows."

Regarding the initial decision of EXO-CBX about leaving the company, SM clarified that the three artists (Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin) wish to continue to stay, explaining:
"First, our company and the three artists decided to recognize and maintain the artist contract relationship and to carry out EXO activities more actively and continuously through some consultations and modifications."
SM also expressed its desire to have two-way communication with the group and attested fans about settling its contract issues.
"We listened to and understood all three artists' thoughts and communicated our position in detail. The three artists also opened up and understood our position regarding the artist contract. In response, we and the three artists promised to conduct equal consultations and modifications and to further strengthen our relationship in the future. In addition, we decided to cheer and support the three artists so that they can fully demonstrate their individuality and work in new ways."
SM Entertainment Clarifies News Related To Big Planet Made Making Offer to EXO-CBX
As the official statement continues, the label also corrected itself about the initial speculation that Big Planet Made instigated the trio to leave the company and join them instead.
"We tell you that there was a misunderstanding about the intervention of a third external force. We were initially informed that a third external force was approaching the three artists with unfair intentions, and we have told you as the main cause of this disturbance.
However, through this discussion, we found out that there was a misunderstanding about the intervention of a third external force. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the officials who caused concern with our announcement."
In the statement, the three members left their message to fans, saying:
"We apologize to the fans, EXO members, and those who trusted and waited for EXO, and we will do our best to repay the support of many people who supported us."
