EXO Shocks Fans with Last-Minute Show Cancellation: What's Really Going On?

In a surprising turn of events, both SM Entertainment and Dingo have provided explanations for the sudden cancellation of EXO's scheduled filming for the popular web variety show, "Killing Voice."

EXO's Mysterious Show Cancellation: Unraveling the Surprising Turn of Events

"Killing Voice" has gained significant attention for its unique concept, where artists showcase their greatest hits in a live medley. Many renowned artists participate in the program as part of their comeback promotions, making EXO's cancellation all the more noteworthy.

Reports emerged on June 28, revealing that EXO had pulled out of the "Killing Voice" shoot just a day before the scheduled filming.

According to an industry insider cited by SBS News, the abrupt cancellation stemmed from a decision made by one of the EXO members, hereafter referred to as "A," who opted not to participate in the June 29 shoot.

Clashing Contracts and Unresolved Negotiations: The Intriguing Background Story

Notably, the report specified that "A" was not Chen, Baekhyun, or Xiumin, who had recently been involved in a public legal dispute with SM Entertainment, but another member entirely.

The insider disclosed to SBS News, "It is highly unusual for a shoot to be suddenly postponed due to an artist's non-participation, especially when a comeback is imminent. Based on my understanding, this issue is not unrelated to EXO's recent conflicts with SM Entertainment over their contracts."

Adding further context, SBS News mentioned that while Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin had reached an agreement with SM Entertainment earlier this month, negotiations regarding the contracts of the other EXO members were still ongoing.

However, SM Entertainment offered a different explanation, stating, "The members of EXO felt that certain aspects of their performance required adjustments before their comeback. As a result, we made the decision to change the schedule for 'Killing Voice' on the eve of filming. We have proposed an alternate filming date and have reached out to Dingo regarding this change."

Echoing SM Entertainment's statement, Dingo commented, "We are currently in discussions to modify the filming schedule for the shoot, rescheduling it for another day."

When pressed for further details regarding the alteration, Dingo responded, "To the best of our knowledge, the schedule adjustment was made to provide the artists with additional practice time for their live singing, aiming to deliver an even higher-quality live performance through our content."

Meanwhile, EXO is eagerly preparing for their highly anticipated group comeback with their upcoming full-length album, "EXIST," set to release on July 10.

To build excitement, they will be unveiling the pre-release track, "Hear Me Out," along with its accompanying music video on June 30 at 6 p.m. KST. Fans can catch a glimpse of their latest teasers for the album on various platforms.
