BLACKPINK Jennie Explains Heartbreaking Reason Behind Her 'Lazy Dancing' Issue
In a recent BBC podcast hosted by British pop star Dua Lipa, world-renowned K-pop idol Jennie of BLACKPINK opened up about her hardships as an idol.
In the broadcast, she explained her "lazy dancing" controversy and addressed the criticism of her being unprofessional on stage.

Jennie had been criticized several times since her debut in 2016 for "roughly" doing their dance choreos compared to other BLACKPINK members.
Due to her seemingly lower energy, Jennie was attacked for her "lazy" dancing, and netizens called accused her of "unprofessionalism."
During the podcast, Jennie confessed her feelings about the issue.
"I was stressed because I kept getting hurt during the performance at the beginning of my debut. When they said 'Now, start', I fell and fell again. I think I disappointed the fans. After all, I didn't seem to do my best while dancing because I'm injured."
She continued to say the things that she wasn't able to say due to lack of chances.
"I didn't know how to control my body and use my body the way I should."
However, Jennie attested to fans that she eventually started overcoming it after learning how to take care of her health and knowing more about how her body works.
"I've learned to take care of my body so far since the COVID-19 pandemic. I've learned so much about my health and how my muscles work, such as how bendy my arms are, the likes and every detail. It all started because I would constantly hurt myself when I'm performing compared to other members."
BLACKPINK Jennie Reveals She Can't Perform Well in High Heels
Jennie also expressed the difficulties she has as an idol who has to wear high heels even during their performances.
"It's really hard to dance in high heels. Some people adapt well to heels, but they aren't built for my feet. If you dance in heels when your feet are swollen while moving, my physical strength will be reduced because I'm uncomfortable with it."
Jennie explained that she is saying everything now because she wanted to be honest and wanted to let her and know that she was still learning about himself.

"It is the first time that Jennie herself has mentioned the criticism that she is unprofessional on stage.
In fact, Jennie maintains a higher standard than Western artists. It is very unusual to recognize her in a K-pop world with high standards and strong control."
Meanwhile, Jennie recently attracted huge attention by debuting as an actress in the American drama, "The Idol."
However, she was embroiled in controversy for its first episode where she was doing a racy choreo. The series has since ended early as originally scheduled folloring a plethora of criticisms.
