Following the slew of E3 updates, Nintendo introduced the player's human companions yesterday for the upcoming Pokemon X and Pokemon Y set to be released worldwide October 12.

Meet Shauna, Trevor, and Tierno!

According to Polygon, Trevor is a highly competitive and portly boy who wants to be the first to complete his Pokedex. The energetic Shauna, like Trevor and Tierno, is from the town of Vaniville. Last but not least, Tierno is a dancer type who is easily distracted.

The fourth companion, and most likely the player's main rival, depends on the gender of the character the player chooses. The rival will either be Calem or Serena.

In addition, sister Viola and Alexa are introduced. While Alexa is a journalist who encounters the player in Santalune City, Viola is the first gym leader the player is to encounter, and her specialty is bug Pokemon!

In a recent trailer, Pokemon fans can see the player navigating the spider web walkways of the first gym. In addition, two new Pokemon who were first shown in this month's CoroCoro have been officially introduced.

Meet Litleo, a half bear-half lion Pokemon, and Flabébé, another fairy-type Pokemon who can't seem to let go of its flower.

As previously reported, more reveals are forthcoming on June 16 on the Japanese show "Pokemon Smash X & Y Special."
