Three months after he announced his departure from NCT and WayV, whatever happened to Lucas?
Lucas' Status After Leaving NCT, WayV + Idol Hints at 4th Debut as Soloist
Lucas, WayV and NCT's former visual member, has been garnering attention for hinting at his possible comeback as a soloist.
After being embroiled in gaslighting and cheating controversies in 2022, Lucas lay low from the K-pop scene and social media. At the time, NCTzens were massively concerned on what will happen to his groups, NCT and WayV, as well as to the project boy group, SuperM.
In May, Lucas broke the speculations when SM Entertainment announced that he was officially stepping down from his position in NCT and WayV.

While SuperM wasn't mentioned, there is skepticism that he will ever make a comeback with the unit given that SM's Founder & former Producer Lee Soo Man, who created the supergroup, also left the company.
Along with the announcement, Lucas said that he will start anew as a soloist and opened his Bubble, a fandom-communicating platform in June.
On August 20, he communicated with his fans, updating them on his recent status.
“Actually, I have lots of thoughts right now because given the current situation. I haven’t been able to come back yet. I am using Bubble to talk to all of you, is that okay?"
Nevertheless, he thanked the fans who didn't leave his side and continue to encourage his plan, saying:
"At first, I am delighted that I was able to share my world with you, and gained strength from your messages, especially those who are reminding me who I am. But, I think I should also care how you all feel."
Lucas then hinted that he's currently working on his solo return to the music scene for his new beginning and sent the message:
“Next time when I meet you all, it could be my 4th debut."
What Happened to Lucas? Reason He Left NCT, WayV
In 2017, Wong Yukhei, popularly known as Lucas, initially established his name in the industry as an SMROOKIES. With his visuals and idol skills, he debuted the following year under NCT's sub-unit, NCT U.
In 2019, he re-debuted for a fixed group WayV and solidified her popularity among the Chinese as a China-based group. Lucas eventually gained global fame for debuting for the third time as SuperM.
Everything was going well for him as one of the strongest and most popular NCT members, until his career was ruined forever due to a serious gaslighting controversy.
In August 2021, his supposed ex-girlfriend exposed him of gaslighting and cheating on her while they were still dating. She also provided transcripts, voice files, and photos as evidence.
The idol admitted this eventually and penned a letter apologizing to those who were hurt by his past behavior.
SM also announced that to reflect, Lucas would suspend all of his activities, which led to his permanent departure to NCT and WayV.
