Sandara Park, renowned as a soloist and a former member of the iconic girl group 2NE1, is no stranger to being recognized as one of the wealthiest figures in the world of K-Pop.

In a recent appearance on a variety show, the singer inadvertently showcased her financial stature while discussing the topic of congratulatory money.

Sandara Park's Unintentional Display 

During Sandara Park's guest appearance on SBS Power FM's Cultwo Show on October 6, the conversation naturally delved into the subject of congratulatory money. A listener had sent in a query, asking how much money one should give at a wedding when they had received $22.30 as a wedding gift.

Sandara Park acknowledged the challenge of determining the appropriate amount, given her own struggles with understanding the customary standards. She disclosed instances where newlyweds had reached out to her after receiving excessively generous gifts at their weddings.

"Since I didn't know the standards well, there were times when I ended up giving a lot, and the newlyweds contacted me."

One remarkable incident involved her gifting $744  to someone with whom she wasn't particularly close. When another guest humorously suggested he might stage a wedding to receive such a gift from Sandara, she clarified that she has since significantly reduced the amounts she gives.

"I didn't know it (the standards) in Korea. I was ignorant about it while going to weddings or funerals, so I used to do that. But now I don't. I have reduced it quite a lot."

While receiving such a substantial cash gift may sound appealing, Sandara elaborated that it had become a mental burden for the recipient of the $740.86 gift.

The individual treated her to an expensive meal later on to alleviate the pressure, a gesture prompted by the belief that he would feel obligated otherwise.
