The ordeal began when Kim Chaewon, along with fellow LE SSERAFIM members Heo Yunjin and Kazuha, was diagnosed with influenza A while in Thailand.

As a result, the group had to cancel their scheduled 2023 LE SERAFIM TOUR 'FLAME RISES' IN BANGKOK performance, which was a disappointing setback for fans eagerly anticipating the event.

Subsequently, Kim Chaewon faced further challenges as she struggled with the aftereffects of the illness. She experienced dizziness symptoms, prompting a visit to the hospital on October 13.

Medical advice recommended rest and stability during her recovery period, leading to the decision for her to take a temporary break from her activities.

Source Music, the agency representing LE SSERAFIM, issued a statement through the fan community, explaining the situation and expressing the need for Kim Chaewon's well-being and health to take precedence.

During this period of hiatus, LE SSERAFIM, with remaining members Sakura, Heo Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae, continued their activities as a 4-member group.

Their digital single 'Perfect Night,' released on the 27th of the previous month, marked a comeback. Kim Chaewon's inability to participate in these activities was a source of disappointment for both the artist and her fans.

Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM reached a significant milestone by appearing on the American NBC's flagship morning show program, 'TODAY SHOW,' on October 30th, local time.
