Justin Bieber Parties On The Weekend But A No-Show At MuchMusic Video Awards

Justin Bieber won FAVE Artist at Sunday night's MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada, but wasn't around to claim the trophy. Fans voted for their favorite singer, and Bieber claimed the title without even showing up.

Bieber beat out fellow Canadians Carly Rae Jepsen, deadmau5, Drake and rockers Marianas Trench. According to omg! News, Cody Simpson presented the FACE Artist award and then accepted it on behalf of his "mate." He said he would give the trophy to Bieber the next time he saw him.

Bieber successfully built up the hype around the Awards, tweeting on Friday: "U guys in vote for the mmva's??"

This was followed with another tweet, mysteriously saying: "Now let the fun begin. #weekend."

Though it is unclear what Bieber did this weekend, he was spotted attending a listening party with Lil Twist and Tyer, the Creator for Kanye West's new album, "Yeezus" on Friday night.

"Fact. @kanyewest new album is the truth," Bieber tweeted later.

Bieber also found time to tweet a Father's Day message on Sunday, as well as a birthday message to his good friend Alfredo Flores.

"Happy Father's Day @JeremyBieber . Love you. Tell @JazmynBieber and @JaxonBieber I miss them," he tweeted.

Despite not attending the awards show, #JustinMMVA was trending on Monday morning.

The favorite artist or group award was won by Taylor Swift, who did make it to the show and made her first appearance at the MMVAs, HollywoodReporter.com reports. She was in the area due to her Red tour making a stop in Toronto for two performances on Friday and Saturday.

Demi Lovato won the international video of the year beating Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors," Ed Sheeran's "Give Me Love" and NickiMinaj's "Va Va Voom."
