SEVENTEEN's upcoming tour announcement has received mixed reactions for its location, which specifically drew the attention of Korean CARATs.
Here's what happened.
SEVENTEEN's 9th Anniversary to Be Held in Japan, K-CARATs Enraged Over Agency's Announcement
On January 28, SEVENTEEN officially announced the dates of their upcoming tour "FOLLOW AGAIN."
According to their post, SEVENTEEN will start their tour at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on March 30 and 31. This will be followed by their performance at the Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Japan, on May 18 and 19. The tour will end on May 25 and 26 at Kanagawa's Nissan Stadium.
While many were thrilled to learn about SEVENTEEN's upcoming shows, Korean CARATs drew flak against HYBE for assigning SEVENTEEN to have their 9th debut anniversary, on May 26, in Japan.
- "Honestly, this is too much. Carats were very disappointed that their 8th-year anniversary concert would be held in Japan, but now, they're also having their encore in Japan, too?"
- "I understand if they'll perform concerts in another country but spending their 9th anniversary in Japan was disappointing. Are they Japanese idols? They're K-pop idols."
- "If you're going to be in Japan on your debut anniversary, just become Japanese idols."
- "Wow, a Japanese idol concert in Incheon! The performance in Korea was crazy."
- "Why are you holding a concert in Japan on their 9th anniversary in Korea? Pledis is such a f**king mess."
International fans also caught wind of the situation, since many received the scope of the conflict involving both Korean and Japanese CARATs. Some empathized with the K-CARATs' anger, saying how justified it was due to SEVENTEEN's early roots in their career.

However, the fandom was still divisive with the reactions made by K-CARATs, as others criticized them for being "dramatic" and boycotting SEVENTEEN over unfair tour schedules.
