While many congratulated DAY6 for reaching another milestone in their career, the photo for this specific feat had many My Days disappointed.
Why is former member Jae being mentioned?
Jae Cropped Out from DAY6's Milestone Post for 'Shoot Me,' My Days Draw Mixed Reactions on Photo
On January 30, DAY6 officially announced their newest milestone, declaring that their music video for "Shoot Me" had reached 50 million views on YouTube.
The song is the title track from their third mini album "Shoot Me: Youth Part 1," which was released on June 26, 2018. "Shoot Me" is also a gem among My Days, as the song contained the participation of Young K, Jae, Sungjin, and Wonpil in its lyrics and composition.
Many congratulated the band for making the accomplishment.
- "Congratulations DAY6! You're the best band!"
- "Congrats, my super band! This song is my favorite and I always listen to it when doing assignments."
- "Congratulations! This song deserved 50 billion views, honestly."
However, fans also noticed that the photo had entirely removed Jae from the frame. My Days then blasted JYP Entertainment for removing the former member, as Jae played a huge role in the song through his vocals and guitar solo.
Fans are aware of how Jae isn't an official member of the band anymore. However, they still recalled the time when the agency "lacked" initiative in promoting DAY6's songs.
This was followed by fans' criticism of JYPE's decision to remove a pivotal member during "Shoot Me" era. Here's how they reacted:
- "@jypentertainment remember y'all never really helped them to promote their stuff and you have the audacity to do this."
- "I get it, he isn't a part anymore and it was mutual, but you can't just remove him as if he wasn't there."
- "He played most of the parts in DAY6's promotions since your company only promoted your favs and famous ones!"
- "Deserved, but, shut up how can you just remove him as if he wasn't a part of it? I hate JYPE so much."
- "Lmao, the cropping went crazy."
- "I still see Jae's shadow."
- "Jae was part of that MV too. It is not okay to crop him out. Give credit to all of them! Disrespectful."
