2NE1 Shares Reunion Photo After 2 Years — Are They Preparing for A Comeback?

After about two years, legendary K-pop girl group 2NE1 finally reunited once again! In a photo, the members ignited second-gen era nostalgia by seeing the four in one frame.

On February 8, 2NE1 raised the expectations of BlackJacks (fandom) after they were seen gathering for the first time in a long time.

Is this a hint for a new comeback project?

CL Shares 2NE1 Reunion Photo on Instagram — Is It Hint for Comeback?

On this day, CL posted a new photo on her personal Instagram with the caption, "4L."

In the photo, all members of 2NE1 (CL, Park Bom, Sandara Park, and Gong Minzy) were seen together wearing comfortable winter outfits and smiling brightly at the ceiling mirror in an elevator.

CL then welcomed fans by setting 2NE1's song "BABY I MISS YOU" as the background music of the post.

It is not clear if they attended a private event as a group or if they had a meeting among the four only, but upon seeing the photo, it immediately raised attention if they were actually preparing for a comeback.

Meanwhile, 2NE1 debuted in May 2009 and will celebrate its 15th debut anniversary this year. During their heyday, the quartet enjoyed global popularity by releasing numerous hit songs such as "I Am The Best," "Fire," "Lollipop," "Lonely" and more.

However, in April 2016, Gong Minzy left 2NE1 and YG Entertainment, eventually leading to the group's disbandment in November of the same year.

To formally bid farewell to fans, 2NE1 released their last song, "Goodbye" in January 2017.

Since then, the members would pursue their respective solo careers, but they maintained close relationships with each other.

After all members left YG Entertainment, Dara being the last member to depart in 2021, they reunited as 2NE1 at the 2022 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival held in the U.S., in Indio, California.

Seeing them perform their hits five years after they disbanded, K-pop fans started urging them to release a new album.

Despite being active under different labels, Dara revealed that their Coachella stage remained a secret and met in private to practice.

As expected, their leader CL was the one to invite and gather the members together. Dara revealed that they were initially invited to attend award ceremonies, but they weren't able to join due to overlapping schedules.

Luckily, they were all free to attend the Coachella, and the event asked them to keep it a secret, thus, when their reunion performance finally happened at the music festival, it became a huge topic around the world.
