Sony PlayStation 3 Firmware Update 4.45 Pulled; Installing “Bricks” Update Reportedly Locks Up The Console

The latest Sony PlayStation 3 firmware update has been pulled out from the site because reportedly, installing it will make the gaming console useless.

PC World reports that the gaming division of Sony took down its PlayStation 3 firmware update 4.45 as they are currently fixing the issue with it. Users of Sony PlayStation 3 are currently advised not to install the firmware update version 4.45 'bricks' until further notice.

Widespread reports from official site's forum are claiming that installing the Sony PlayStation firmware update 4.45 is causing a lockdown on their game consoles. Some gamers used Twitter to inform their friends and followers about the issue with Sony PlayStation 3 firmware update.

For instance, Jeremy Graves from Twitter (@JeremyG) warned those who have a Sony PlayStation 3. He tweeted, "#PS3 OWNERS BEWARE: Lots of problems being reported with 4.45 PlayStation 3 Firmware Update today." He also added the link for the community forum of Sony Playstation 3 discussing the matter which is  https://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Support/Problem-after-update-to-4-45/td-p/4071224.

According to PC World, a user named JadeTreeinWind described the problem encountered when the Sony PlayStation 3 firmware update 4.45 was installed. The user said that after the update, after displaying the PS3 logo, the crossbar would not show up already. The user did try to restart the console but same problem still happened.

Sony Computer Entertainment expressed that they are sorry about the firmware update 4.45 problem that happened for the PlayStation 3. The spokeswoman of the company, Yoshiko Uchiyama from Tokyo stated, "we are working to quickly identify the problem, and will post updates to our global websites as soon as we have found it." She further added that Sony was sorry for the inconvenience experienced by the users after installing the Sony PlayStation firmware update 4.45.
