Wendy's deadpan reaction and relatable reply are going viral across social media.

Here's what happened!

Red Velvet Wendy's 'Pause' & Response to Turning 30 Has Luvies Laughing

On February 21, 2024, Wendy celebrated her 30th birthday on a live broadcast. While the livestream was heartwarming at best, it also had its funny moments without a doubt.

On February 22, TikToker @wenrene_rv uploaded a small clip from the live broadcast. The video showcased Wendy, who apparently spotted a question asking how she felt being thirty years old. "How does it feel like to be thirty?" Wendy read.

After relaying the question, the viewers were treated to a long pause from the idol, before answering how being thirty is almost the same. However, at that specific age, Wendy nonchalantly described feeling tired when doing physical activity.

"It feels almost the same," Wendy replied. "Except you feel a bit more tired if you move more."

In the comments section, netizens expressed laughter over Wendy's relatable "dreadful" reaction to the age transition, as well as her remark on physical exhaustion.

  • "That's me in my twenties."
  • "I'm not even thirty yet, and I feel the same way Wannie."
  • "I mean, she summed it up perfectly."
  • "I feel you, Wendy. I feel you."
  • "Welcome to the club, Wendy. It only gets worse from here."
  • "This is very relatable lol."
  • "Girl, she is so real for this."
  • "I relate to this the most with an idol."
  • "Wendy is so real. Like babe, same, and I'm only 19."

Meanwhile, some fans teased the idol for having done the "millennial pause," a popular term for when an individual, whose age range is from thirties to forties, stares at the camera for a few seconds after pressing record.

The term's essence is derived from how middle-aged individuals adapt to current technological advancements and gadgets. While fans had a good time with Wendy's reaction, some argued that the term "millennial pause" didn't apply to her expression.

Others pointed out how the "silence" basically answered everything!

  • "It's the millennial pause."
  • "The long pause answered it all."
  • "Is this what they call the millennial pause?"
  • "She's just thinking about her answer. Millennial pause is 30-year-olds being used to slower phones and waiting for a video to start when they record."
  • "There's no right definition for millennial pause. It can give different meanings depending on the situation."
  • "She said so much, but without words."
  • "Same Wendy, same. Every time I get back from work, my bed is the only thing I see."

In other news, Wendy will make her first-ever solo comeback on March 12 with second mini album "Wish You Hell."
