Ahn Solbin in 2014 to 2021: LABOUM Debut, Acting Career, Attitude Controversy, Hiatus
In 2014, Ahn Solbin became known in the K-pop scene as the center, visual and sub-vocals of the girl group, LABOUM.
During their heyday, she became the most popular member due to her active solo activities aside from their group schedules, such as being an MC for KBS's "Music Bank" from 2016 to 2018.
She also turned to acting in 2016 where she received decent popularity for her works, such as "Solomon's Perjury," "Backstreet Rookie," and "Idol: The Coup."
Among K-pop fans, Solbin was also known for her strong resemblance and comparison with Girl's Day Hyeri, whose popularity also rose around the same time due to her hit drama, "Reply 1988."
Known by her nickname "Ice Princess," she was known for her duality due to her cold and blank facial expression. Fans were eventually surprised that she actually had an easy-going and fun attitude.
However, due to this, she was also once misunderstood when she encountered BTS Jin in a broadcast, to which she spoke informally with him.
Fans defended her and pointed out that they were known to be close friends, but BTS Jin's supporters were offended given that the male idol is five years older than her, and is also her junior in the industry.
Thus, calling him without honorific is rude, regardless of their close friendship. She issued an apology shortly after the issue.
In 2021 then, Ahn Solbin stopped acting gigs first to focus on her idol activities. At the time, they decided to make a comeback after their popularity reignited due to their reverse-driving song, "Journet to Atlantis."

Unfortunately, their promotional schedules were only limited due to the coronavirus pandemic and their supposed comeback in March 2022 never happened.
LABOUM would have few group activities until they decided to have an indefinite hiatus in September of the same year to focus on their solo activities.
At the time, Ahn Solbin decided to go back to acting and joined the web series, "2022 Brain, Your Choice Of Romance," Season 2 and the TV show, "Army Three."
However, she never starred in another small screen show following "Idol: The Coup" in 2021. Her social media presence also stopped in 2022, causing fans to worry about her status.
So far, based on her recent sightings and co-idol updates, Ahn Solbin transitioned to becoming a musical actress in 2023, joining the musical, "Missing."
