After dominating the music industry from the 2000s to 2010s, these legendary idols announced through an exclusive MHN Sports article that they will form a collaboration girl group and hold a concert in April to honor the "2nd-Gen Era"
Here Are Details About 'This Generation' & Group's Concert
The media reported that This Generation (a play to the second generation) is a girl group that will be comprised of Nine Muses Sera, After School Raina, Wassup Nada, Stellar Gayoung, and The Ark Jeong Yujin.
The quintet all debuted in the 2nd-gen era, and they are set to bring the OG K-pop nostalgia by meeting fans at the "This Generation" concert that will be held on April 6.
The concert ticket reservation will begin on March 8, and the members raised high-level anticipation after it was revealed that all members personally prepared the concerts, from planning their own performance halls, and cue sheets and even taking profile photos.
This Generation Members' Profiles
Starting with the Ryu Sera, the '87-born will become the eldest sister of This Generation. She debuted as a member of Nine Muses in 2010 and worked with them for four years.
After she parted ways with the group, Ryu Sera became a full-fledged soloist who released her solo songs and participated in OST releases. Ryu also launched her official YouTube channel.
The second member will be Raina (89-line), who rose to popularity when she debuted in After School in 2009. She also established her career with the reign of its sub-unit Orange Caramel.
After breaking up with her agency Pledis Entertainment at the end of 2019, she announced her new start as a solo artist and has been actively working on OST releases, broadcast appearances, musicals, and YouTube.
The third member is Nada (born in '91), who joined the hip-hop K-pop group Wassup in 2013. The team earned massive attention for their unconventional choreographies that included twerking, the first time among girl groups at the time.
Nada then cemented her name by winning the runner-up prize in "Unpretty Rapstar 3." Since then, she also expanded her work by actively participating in entertainment shows and releasing solo songs and OSTs.
The fourth member is Kim Gayoung who made her debut in 2011 as Stellar. Before her debut, she became a hot topic and made headlines for being recognized as Kukak High School's ulzzang Kim Gayoung.
Although she received initial love for her top-notch visuals, she later on solidified her name as an actress after leaving the team in 2017 due to contract expiration.
Last but not least, Jeong Yujin of the girl group The Ark also drew attention for her participation in This Generation girl group.
