Dreyfoos Bodies Found At School, Two Confirmed Dead, UPDATE: One Was Custodian

Bodies found at Dreyfoos School for the Arts have stunned the community. Bodies found this morning at the West Palm Beach, FL school have been confirmed dead by police.

Witnesses in Dreyfoos described a  heavy police presence and emergency crews descending on the scene after the bodies were found. At least one of the deaths was of a custodian.

Details are still emerging in the case, but it is thought that both victims were adults. The Dreyfoos bodies were found at about 6:30 AM this morning. Palm Beach County School District spokesman Jason Shockley confirmed a school custodian was one of the two bodies found.

The Dreyfoos School of the Arts is a prestigious art school, and the presence of SWAT teams was unsettling to students and onlookers.

Capt. David Bernhardt, a West Palm Beach Police spokesman, said that an investigation was undergoing. He did not say the case has been classified as a homicide.

"It's an open death investigation ... That way we're not limiting to ourselves what type of investigation we are doing. It could turn out to be a homicide investigation later on, it could just be a normal death investigation."

Genders and ages have not been released by police, but an update has now confirmed that there was no active shooter on campus by the time police arrived.

No obvious cause of death for the bodies was observed in the initial investigation. Bernhardt said that the Dreyfoos bodies were "not found in a classroom," but rather in a "maintenance or supply area of the school building".

A recent graduate of the Dreyfoos School Of The Arts, Matthew Baquero, told press,

"I can't believe this is happening at my school ... this is stuff that you only see in the news like somewhere in Connecticut or in another state but I can't imagine this happening at my school right now."
