In an online forum, ENGENEs posted numerous protest truck captions aimed at BELIFT LAB, which according to fans, is discriminating Sunoo.
Here's what happened.
ENHYPEN Sunoo Solo Activities Demanded by ENGENEs, Fans Call Out Agency for 'Discriminating' Idol
On March 17, ENGENEs and K-netz gathered in an online post, titled, "ENHYPEN's discriminative treatment truck protest."
According to the forum, the author uploaded several screenshots of captions from Sunwoo's Chinese Bar, which demanded more of the idol's solo promotions. Captions stated how the "Bite Me" singer deserved more individual schedules and brand events.
The protest captions then called out BELIFT LAB, expressing disappointment towards the agency for "discriminating" Sunoo. Lastly, ENGENEs left an encouraging message to Sunoo and assured him of fans' support. See the captions below:
Translation: "Kim Sunoo deserves to have more individual schedules and brand events! We hope that the BELIFT LAB team will allocate resources towards him reasonably."
Translation: "We hope that you stop discriminating ENHYPEN's member Sunoo."
Translation: "Sunoo-yah, you've been doing good ever since debut until now. We'll always be Sunoo's side."
In the comments section, Korean netizens found the posters unpleasant and conveyed their frustration over ENHYPEN's Chinese following. Some mentioned that the whole protest endeavor was embarrassing for Sunoo and the fandom. Read their comments here:
- "It's China again."
- "Those hearts are annoying."
- "We can't help those international fans."
- "It's the China bar again lol."
- "They're actually going to send those for real?"
- "Ugh, as a third party, I'm getting embarrassed."
- "As a Sunoo fan, I beg you not to send it. Sunwoo already has enough haters."
- "What can they do about the brands picking him? Sunwoo will be the only one embarrassed."
- "Where's the shame in this?"
On the other hand, international ENGENEs stated that fans and these protest trucks should focus on more important matters such as ENHYPEN's newest airport mobbing incident. Others simply grumbled on how humiliating the whole protest for Sunoo was.
- "They should send trucks about their crazy fans mobbing them instead."
- "At this point, I want to invest in the truck business in South Korea, to be honest."
- "You should've posted about ENHYPEN getting mobbed at the airport and everyone was so frustrated because there were 50 sasaengs who booked the same flight at them."
- "Embarrassing. Stop sending trucks, it's cringe."
- "I don't get it. Isn't he a Prada ambassador like the rest of the group?"
However, some agreed with the protest. One fan stated:
"They're right to complain. Sunoo is a great singer, and he should be appearing in shows such as 'King of the Masked Singer' and 'Lee Mujin Service,' but BELIFT isn't trying to book those for him. He should also be allowed to upload song covers regardless of the company's orders."
I think the members being invited to brand events are decided by the brand and not BELIFT, but BELIFT should be doing some talking so all members would receive gigs. Sunoo and Heeseung never got anything outside of a group gig, and Jay got like one.
But I hope these trucks don't make him feel embarrassed like some comments are saying."
