AKMU has given fans a special gift!
On March 21, YG Entertainment uploaded several posters that celebrated the 10th anniversary of the popular music duo AKMU, composed of siblings Lee Chanyuk and Lee Suhyun.
According to the agency's posts, it announced that the official fandom name of AKMU would be AKKADEMY.
The fandom name AKKADEMY is a fusion of the words "AKMU" and "ACADEMY," which highlights an organization that is "the center of arts."
The poster also included the AKKADEMY emblem akin to a school symbol. The sign contains a vintage feel, which also stimulates the imagination of viewers through its unique design and wit.
YG Entertainment also released a brief statement, disclosing that the agency had prepared various projects for AKMU fans. The company concluded its statement by assuring fans of more of AKMU's exciting endeavors.

"We have prepared a variety of projects to repay the fans, who have loved AKMY for the past 10 years and have been with us on their musical journey," the agency shared. "We will continue to expand the worldview of AKMU with our artists, so please look forward to it."
Regarding the membership purchases for fan club "AKKADEMY," it will be available starting from March 21, at 2 p.m., KST, until April 4 in Weverse Shop.

In other news, AKMU appeared on the variety program "You Quiz on the Block" on December 8, 2021. In the episode, Suhyun opened up about the struggles she experienced during Chanhyuk's military service. The singer even mentioned that she considered retiring completely.
Suhyun disclosed that she felt pressure in taking over Chanhyuk's duties while he was gone. Afterwards, Suhyun revealed that she had also sent a heartfelt email to Chanhyuk, which expressed her gratitude to him.
"I thanked him for everything," Suhyun shared. "I also apologized for not knowing all of the things he had been doing for us."
