Fallout 4 Update: Secret E3 Showcase, Leaked Gameplay Footage, And Pete Hines' Secrecy

With Fallout 4 failing to make an appearance E3, fans continue to crave for any updates on Bethesda's title. Here is a roundup of the latest rumors and updates on the sequel.

According to Latin Times, rumors arose that Fallout 4 actually had a secret showcase during the E3 Expo. While Bethesda officially showcased their upcoming titles like "The Evil Within," "Elder Scrolls Online," and Wolfenstein: The New Order," others seemed suspiciously ambiguous as to Fallout 4's presence.

In addition to Bethesda's full plate of upcoming titles, another reason Fallout 4 hasn't been announced is possibly due to its early stages in production.

Examiner recently reported that an inside source confirmed the project to be at 55 percent completion, with voice actors to be hired later on in the year. At this rate, the earliest release date for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 title is 2014, if not later.

Pete Hines, the vice president of Bethesda, remains tight-lipped about the project, even though it is all but certain that the title is in the works. With such fervant demands by fans, he has taken to Twitter to defend reports on his attitude and the disappointment in Fallout 4 lack of presence at E3 this year.

Most recently, PlayStation Universe reported that a trailer was shown in the alleged secret showcase at E3, though no footage has been released to confirm the news.

The trailer reportedly showed locations such as Arlington Cambridge, Somerville, Boston and similar areas. In addition, Fallout 4 will apparently have its official reveal at E3 2014, with an October release following that. The game is expected to be released for the next-gen systems as well as PC.

Without anything more to go on except word-of-mouth rumors, stay tuned for more updates.
