In Douyin, the Chinese version of the video-sharing platform TikTok, the K-pop idol created a buzz among netizens for her viral "spin."
Also known as the Jang Wonyoung "twirl," her graceful move became the talk of the town and it dominated the platform even more when young women and even men started imitating the idol's iconic spin.

In particular, the trending spin started when netizens compiled Jang Wonyoung's little twirl during their concerts. The move involves spinning the bum gracefully and ending it by bending one leg.
While it seemed like a simple spin, most female netizens who attempted to copy it failed, which birthed the "Jang Wonyoung twirl" challenge in Douyin.
Initially, the challenge was only limited to the platform, but it naturally reached the mainstream channels in China and even in TV shows, celebrities and other idols are also partaking in the aforementioned trend.

Not only this but due to the iconic move, this Jang Wonyoung twirl also reached Chinese gamers after Tencent games in China applied spin to its characters via a professional motion catcher.
Thanks to the idol, the hit K-pop song, "Trouble Maker," performed by HyunA and Hyunseung also went viral again after this was used as the background song for the challenge.

IVE to Release 2nd Mini-Album 'Ive Switch' on April 29
Meanwhile, the trend is anticipated to intensify ahead of IVE's much-awaited comeback with its second mini-album, "Ive Switch" which will be released on April 29.
The expectation to high for the group's new album following IVE's consecutive success with its past releases.
Starting with its first single, "Eleven" dropped in December 2021, the song created a sensation that helped them establish a position among fourth-gen leaders.
Throughout the track, they snugged rookie awards and daesangs. IVE also broke records as the fastest group to win first place after debuting in seven days, as well as the girl group with the most wins for a debut song.
Its popularity continued after they released their songs, "Love Dive" and "After LIKE." In 2023 then, their first full-length album, "I've IVE" wrote another history as the first group under Starship Entertainment to have an initial sales of 1.1 million album copies.
The album's double title tracks, "Kitsch" and "I AM" both recorded PAK, while the latter achieved a grand slam after winning first place on all music broadcasts.
Lastly, its first mini and most recent album, "I'VE MINE" achieved a career-high by recording initial sales of 1.6M within four days of release.
