Nigeria will play Uruguay in a Confederations Cup 2013 match at the Fonte Nova stadium in Salvador, Brazil, on Thursday, pitting two competitive teams against each other in the race to finish the group stage.

Nigeria and Uruguay are both in Group B of the Confederations Cup 2013, along with Spain and Tahiti.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Tahiti 6-1 in a group match on Monday, while Uruguay was defeated by Spain 2-1.

While Nigeria is in the lead within Group B because of the number of goals they scores against Tahiti, some say they might not have the same luck with group rival Uruguay - the South American team landed fourth place in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa with the lead of star strikers Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez.

But Nigeria is expected to place Nnamdi Oduamadi, Aide Ideye and Ahmed Musa, the conutry's lead strikers, in the lineup.

And if Nigeria is able to defeat Uruguay in Thursday's Confederations Cup 2013 match, they will qualify for the tournament's semi-final round.

Uruguay is expected to assemble a well-built attacking line as the South American team is in need of points in order to advance to the semi-finals.
