Scars are often considered as "flaws," but these 5 gorgeous K-pop idols embraced their imperfection. Their stories will inspire you to accept yourself the way you are!
1. SHINee Key
When Key was young, he almost suffered blindness when he was playing with a flower pot and fell. The broken pieces hit his right eyebrow, but fortunately, they didn't injure his eye.
While it left him a permanent scar, Key who has always been looking at the bright side thinks that it added to his attractive point. Thus, rather than hiding it with makeup, he confidently associates his scar with cool and stylish concept.
2. BTS Jungkook
The "golden maknae" Jungkook also debunked the stereotype that an idol should have a flawless face to be called the "most handsome man in the world."
Among K-pop idols, Jungkook is one of the stars who isn't shy to show his imperfection with the scar stretching diagonally on the left side of his face.
He got this when he and his older brother fought over who should play computer games first when they were kids.
While it has faded through the years, it is still visible, especially in close-up photos.
3. SEVENTEEN Wonwoo
Another gorgeous idol with a facial scar is Wonwoo. In his close-up photos, fans noticed that he has a small scar around his right eye.
But just like Key and Jungkook, the SEVENTEEN member also embraced this scar and regardless of it, CARATs think that this "flaw" is actually what makes the idol the unique Wonwoo that they love!
4. NCT 127 Taeyong
When Taeyong was young, he suffered from severe atopy and as he scratched his face a lot, it left a scar under his right eye.
Despite that, this "imperfection" is one of the things that made Taeyong's face shine brighter.
NCTzens are also obsessed with this scar that they call a rose because of its shape resembling the flower.
Fans associate Taeyong with a fairy that even beautiful things are blooming on his face!
5. Former IZ*ONE Choi Yena
Last but not least, Choi Yena also has a scar she got that reminds her of her childhood. When she was a kid, the idol suffered from lymphoma, a type of childhood cancer.
Her neck has a visible scar (neck dimple as calles by fans) after she underwent intubation surgery and this reminded her of the time when her parents would sell kimbap due to their poor financial status caused by her hospital bills.
Carrying this, she strived harder to do well and fulfilled her dream of debuting as a K-pop idol. She initially achieved success as a member of IZ*ONE. After disbandment, she started her bright solo career.
