Seunghan is rumored preparing for university life amid his indefinite hiatus from RIIZE, while some netizens discussed SM Entertainment's handling of the idol's current situation.
Here's what they're saying.
RIIZE Seunghan Rumored Entering University, BRIIZEs Reflect SM Entertainment's 'Poor' Handling Of Idol's Situation
On April 14, K-netz established an online thread titled, "Apparently, RIIZE Seunghan Is Preparing To Enter (A) University."
Seunghan is currently on a hiatus since 2023. However, the author claimed that there were claims of the idol attending a cram school, which is usually taken to study for entrance exams in universities.
"They said that Seunghan was attending a cram school," OP shared. "It seems like he has retired from the celebrity world."
In the comments section, K-netz also brought Soobin of TXT into the discussion and mentioned him for the "controversial" livestream he had with Seunghan. The said livestream ignited outrage among K-pop fans, as the two were once accused of mocking LE SSERAFIM Eunchae.
- "Wow Soobin-Seunghan were on a livestream together but one is promoting like he doesn't know who the other is while the other was kicked out of the celebrity world. Legendary."
- "I hope that Soobin lives the rest of his life in guilt."
- "Honestly, Soobin already debuted and Seunghan was still a trainee. Soobin is significantly older, so wasn't Soobin even more careless for having his private account exposed as opposed to Seunghan?"
They recalled Seunghan's leaked photos of his past relationship, while some empathized with the idol's future endeavors.
- "If only his private livestream was exposed. He should've just endured it. But because of all the motel photos, this was just his weighted punishment."
- "What's wrong with the comments here? I think that there's already no more place for him to return."
- "Who cares whether he's attending an academy for re-examination of the entrance exam or not?"
- "It's a shame for his skills and talent but his scandals were too severe for the entertainment industry."
- "His face was all exposed too, so I feel bad for him. I hope he lives happily as a commoner."
Meanwhile, in a separate platform, international fans tried to see the positive side of Seunghan having other goals outside the group. They looked back on Seunghan's hard work as a trainee, while others reflected on SM's management of the idol's fiasco.
Some, however, were skeptical of the rumors of Seunghan preparing for a university entrance exam.
- "One good thing about debuting young idols is that when it doesn't work out, they can at least still try to attend uni."
- "He's not even that young, he's 20. He can still enter uni, but he definitely wasted his teenage years being a K-pop trainee for nothing."
- "Again, if Lucas can come back Seunghan will come back. If Seunghan is forced to leave the group he'll have a solo debut."
- "It's either that or he himself doesn't want to be an idol anymore after the ridiculous scandal."
- "Groundless rumor."
- "Honestly SM's response to both situations just created more resentment and friction in the fandom."
- "As much as I love the members and their music I had to jump ship coz this whole situation is unfair and unusually cruel."
- "SM needs to actually start addressing whether he's still in the group or not, they're just giving the fans false hope."
