JTBC's 'Girls on Fire'

On April 16, JTBC released the premiere episode of "Girls on Fire," the first audition program in Korea that heralds a journey to form an all-female K-pop vocal girl group.

The vocal group, regardless of age, genre and nationality aims to start the K-pop's diversity just like K-hip hop, but this time, highlighting the female vocal music.

To ensure the quality of the winners, the show invited top-tier musicians who will become mentors of the participants throughout the show. This includes veteran singer Yoon Jong Shin, Sunwoo JungA, rapper Gaeko and choreographer Kinky.

K-pop artists will also guide the contestants including Apink Jung Eunji and Day6 Young K, who both excel in the field of idol and theater worlds.

Mnet's 'I-Land 2'

Following ENHYPEN, its junior sister will also be birthed through the second season of Mnet's audition program, "I-Land 2"!

This time, the project will be between the partnership of the broadcasting channel and Teddy, CEO of THEBLACKLABEL, an affiliate company of YG Entertainment.

The program will focus on the journey of the birth of a new girl group that will lead a new trend in the global music market through a special collaboration.

The concept will center on the theme, "N/a" (NA). It depicts the meeting of "N," which means unpredictable diversity, and "a" (alpha), which has infinite possibilities.

The 24 applicants who were selected through a large-scale global audition held in 13 cities in 10 countries will have to compete then to achieve their dream of joining the final debut lineup.

The show will also feature seasoned artists including BIGBANG Taeyang as the main producer, 24 & VVN as the music producers, as well as Monika and Leejung as the performance directors. Lastly, actor Song Kang also participates as the show's storyteller.

KBS's 'Make Mate 1 (MA1)'

For the first time in 6 years, KBS will once again hold a global debut project program called, "Make Mate 1" (hereinafter "MA1").

The name of the show is the combination of the words, "MATE" which means the time to become one with friends and "MAKE," which means, "to create the stage of your dreams."

36 multinational participants will compete to fulfill their dream of becoming idols. But it has a SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE from other idol survival shows.

Unlike other programs that accept trainees sent by entertainment companies, MA1 will only showcase participants who are all independent/freelance (not under an agency).

Thus, the show will only focus on the infinite potential, abilities and skills of the contestants rather than the name of the agency they came from.

The 36 idol aspirants will be guided by "Nation's Pick" EXO Xiumin as the show's MC, while MAMAMOO Solar, We Dem Boys Vata & Ingyu, rapper Hanhae as well as vocal trainers Lim Han Byul and Kim Sung Eun will join them as mentors.
