Lee Chaeyeon and AB6IX Woojin get candid about the time they were kicked out of JYP Entertainment, along with Daehwi.
On May 8, the YouTube channel Studio Usog uploaded the 15th episode of "Inssadong Sulzzi," hosted by former IZ*ONE and soloist Lee Chaeyeon.
On this day, the female idol introduced her best friends, AB6IX Woojin and Donghyun, who used to train together with her.
Throughout the broadcast, the three flaunted their hilarious chemistry and antics, reminiscing about the time before their respective debuts.
In particular, Chaeyeon narrated that they met as trainees under JYP Entertainment and recalled that there were at least 50 of them practicing in one room together.
At this point, the idol opened up about trainees being fired, sharing a meaningful laugh as Donghyun added:
"(Trainees are being cut off) out of nowhere."
Hearing this, Woojin and Chaeyeon decided to share how they got kicked out of JYP almost on the same day and the latter said:
"We were supposed to get kicked out on the same day. They told me later. It was supposed to be on the same day, but I had to go earlier. I ended up going earlier and everybody came to cheer me up. We were all sobbing. He (Woojin) was there, too."
Woojin continued the story, adding:
"2 people left that day. It was Daehwi and Chaeyeon. She was the best trainee among us, and Daehwi felt like he was already part of JYP. They were perfect. But they were leaving! Everyone was shook. How could this be? How can this happen? How could they leave? I was in the stairwell, thinking, I just couldn't fathom why.
The new schedule then came out later, but my name wasn't on the rap lesson. I texted them, 'Hi, am I not taking rap lessons anymore?' (The staff responded) 'Oh Woojin!' It's too upsetting to say this out loud."
Chaeyeon decided to say it then, mimicking the staff:
"Oh, Woojin, you're still here?' Everyone who had to leave was already out but 'Woojin, you're still here?' Come up for a sec.'"
Woojin also added:
"The day she left, I was like, 'It's me next time,' we were all laughing, but it was true. I was like what is happening? It turned out that 3 people had left. I was scarred for life. I was totally on my own. But it wasn't that bad. I got all the attention. Everyone is sad because of me. They bawled."
Donghyun then wrapped up the talk by leaving it as a memory of their "youth," saying:
"We were so young at the time and didn't have much experience in going through a loss. The emotions were bigger."
