In an interview, THIS actress revealed that she actually referenced K-pop soloist Chungha to play the main character role in this hit drama.
On May 10, the YouTube channel, "ZIP DAESUNG," led by the BIGBANG member uploaded a new episode starring top-tier second-gen idols, CNBLUE Jungshin and former MBLAQ Lee Joon. Actress Lee Yubi also joined them as a special guest.
During the broadcast, the three K-pop idols reminisced about their fun experiences as K-pop idols, touching topics about their dating lives as well as co-members' statuses.
While talking about their music broadcast memories, they then asked Lee Yubi, who graduated from the vocal music department if she ever considered becoming a singer.
The full-fledged actress then responded:
"I received an offer when I was young, but as I got older, no one made such an offer."
Despite this, Lee Yubi, who boasts idol-like facial features and physique has played roles as a K-pop idol before, and her most popular character so far was Han Mone, one of the main characters of the drama, "The Escape of the Seven."

She expressed feeling playing an idol role, saying:
"That's why it was so fun to become Han Mone because she plays an idol and there are a few dancing and stage scenes, so I thought it would be really fun."
When asked if there is anyone she used as a reference to portray Mone, Yubi agreed and named Chungha, former I.O.I who has now become a solo artist.
Regarding the reason, she explained:
"Yes, there is. I referred to Chungha. Chungha’s dance goes well with Mone and she's good at singing, too. Her facial expression, dance and use of her hand gestures go well together.
So in the scene where Mone does idol auditions, I told them that I wanted to do Chungha's song, 'Rollercoaster."
Daesung then commented:
"It filled up those needs."
With this, Lee Yubi showed admiration to idols and said:
"It did. I think singers are amazing."
As the talk about becoming K-pop idols continued, the other guests then recalled how they became K-pop idols and Lee Joon shared an anecdote of what inspired him to pursue the career.
He narrated:
"When you're young, you're curious about everything. I had one of those times once. When BB guns were all the rage. Everybody was playing with them and one time, a BB went into my eye, it was bleeding, and it was all red. I couldn't see anything.
At the time, for about a month, you can't walk because of the pressure. I had to wear a blindfold and lay in bed all day. Because I got a visual impairment, all I could do was listen to the radio, H.O.T, Fin. K.L., Sechs Kies. Even just listening to the music, I became a fan. I opened my eyes, and there they were. They looked so cool. That's when I started dancing."
