Here are five female idols who have received flak for their live vocal ability.
Though K-pop has been a genre for decades now, it is just now considered mainstream and global. Thanks to K-pop groups attaining outstanding achievements for their talents, the industry has changed the way they create music. While it helps a group instantly achieve fame, there are some drawbacks.
In the past, idols would train for years to polish their skills. Now, however, idols can debut even if their vocals aren't perfect, which sparks scandals and controversies. On the other hand, idols are now openly dating, drinking, and more.
Recently, several female idols have garnered backlash for their unstable and shaky live vocals. This has sparked a backlash among K-Netz, who believed idols should be the epitome of perfect artists. Here are five female idols who received major hate for their voices.
1. LE SSERAFIM Sakura
Sakura has been an idol for 13 years, debuting with the J-pop girl group HKT48 when she was just a child. In 2018, she debuted with IZ*ONE after competing on "Produce 48," then debuted again with LE SSERAFIM in 2022.

Despite her experience, Sakura's vocals have received backlash. People believe her voice is too nasally, and she often appears nervous when having to sing live. She is shaky even when standing, which people have taken as a sign of her inability to sing.
2. LE SSERAFIM Kazuha
Kazuha is another member of LE SSERAFIM who has been criticized for her vocals. While she has earned praise for her flexibility and dance ability, people believe her vocals are not befitting someone with three years of experience as an idol.
3. ILLIT Moka
Moka was the main member of ILLIT who received backlash following the group's encore stage controversy. Korean netizens noted that she sounded nothing like the recorded version of "Magnetic," with her shaky and unstable vocals.
4. (G)I-DLE Shuhua
Ever since her debut with (G)I-DLE, Shuhua has garnered flak for her weak vocals. At first, they claimed she also couldn't dance and had no stage presence, questioning how she debuted. However, ever since "TOMBOY," she has shown a drastic improvement in her expressions and dance.

Many pointed out that she has a high-pitched, nasally voice that is often shaky, leading to a constant stream of criticisms.
