BELIFT LAB has officially responded to recent plagiarism allegations against their artists through a comprehensive video release. The video firmly denies the accusations, providing substantial evidence and emphasizing the company's commitment to originality and artistic integrity.
In the video, BELIFT LAB showcased behind-the-scenes footage and detailed documentation of their creative process to counter the plagiarism claims.
This move aims to demonstrate the originality and authenticity of their artists' work.
"We have always prioritized originality in our creations," the company stated. "This video provides clear evidence of our commitment to artistic integrity."
BELIFT LAB also took the opportunity to express gratitude for the unwavering support from fans during this challenging period. They addressed the impact of the allegations on the artists' mental well-being, acknowledging the stress and anxiety caused by such claims.
"The support from our fans has been invaluable," the company noted. "Our artists have felt the weight of these accusations, and your support has been a beacon of hope for them."
The video has sparked significant discussion among fans and the broader music community. BELIFT LAB has vowed to cooperate fully with any official inquiries to ensure a transparent resolution to the matter.
"We are committed to cooperating fully with any investigations," BELIFT LAB assured. "Our primary goal is to clear our artists' names and maintain the trust of our audience."
Recently, BELIFT Lab has been criticized for using the Romie font without permission on ENHYPEN's "Dark Blood" album, released in May 2023. The issue surfaced on a Korean online community forum, Instiz, where it was highlighted that Romie is a paid font available for free only for non-commercial purposes.
Since ENHYPEN's album is sold globally, this use did not qualify for free usage. The font's creator, Margot Leveque, publicly condemned BELIFT Lab on Instagram, sarcastically praising the usage while demanding payment.
This incident has sparked broader criticism of HYBE, BELIFT Lab's parent company, for repeated plagiarism accusations and a perceived lack of copyright awareness. The public's reaction has been overwhelmingly negative, expressing disappointment and frustration over the company's recurring intellectual property issues.
