Jessi Clarifies Rumors Of 'Misunderstanding' With PSY After Leaving P Nation: 'Me And Him, We Cool...'

Jessi has clarified any speculations of "beef" with the P NATION founder.

Earlier on June 17, Jessi appeared as a special guest on Eric Nam's "Daebak Show." In the 22nd episode of its 3rd season, Jessi discussed her past challenges in her career, her achievements, and upcoming endeavors in the future.

At one point, Eric Nam asked Jessi about her plans and what's next for her. Jessi replied by that she wanted to take her time and put herself first.

Eric Nam: "I mean, what do you think in (doing) musically, what's next for you? I know you're going to keep doing a million things but I'm sure you have aspirations of obviously doing more music, are you trying to tour? More businesses? More TV?"

Eric Nam: "What are you thinking? You can do anything."

Jessi: "I can do anything. I know I can do everything because I've done it (before), right? But for me, I think most importantly, I've just been through a lot. I just want to pace myself, you know, put myself first."

Jessi: "And now, I don't have a company, right? So, I'm doing (things) on my own."

Eric Nam: "What's that like?"

Jessi: "It's the scariest thing, but it's the best feeling ever. It's scary, but it's so interesting because it's something I've never done."

Jessi then stressed the importance of finding good and loyal people, which led her to recall the time when everyone pointed out her abrupt switches between companies. The soloist then dispelled speculations of "misunderstandings" with PSY when she left P NATION.

Jessi: "I remember when everybody was saying 'oh, Jessi keeps switching companies,' right? When did I keep switching? I did my time with every company (laughs) I sound like I went to jail."

Jessi: "Maybe the first contract was a bit like that since I was like 14, it's like a 9-year contract, I did my time. I did like 7, maybe. It was not good, but listen, everyone thinks, 'Oh my god, Jess, why does this girl, she's the problem.' Why the f**k would I stay in one company for the rest of my life?"

Jessi: "Why would I not explore? If I wasn't aware, I'd probably be safe in a company and have a contract, do what they told me, but it didn't just feel right to me. It's not about they did me wrong or nothing. I'd have to say that P NATION was one of the best companies I've been in."

Jessi: "In a sense of being creative. I probably made the most money there too, but did it make me happy? Ultimately, it didn't. There's one thing I want to clear out because everyone's like 'she left P NATION, she probably was a prob-,' No, me and PSY, we cool as f**k."

Jessi: "He was actually so understanding when I left because I told him that it's not about the money or none of that. I want to go out there and try something I've never done before. He got that because he went through that experience when he was in a label and then created P NATION."

Jessi: "He was like, 'go thrive,' do what you gotta do,' and that meant so much to me. Whatever anybody says, I respect PSY oppa so much because he's helped me grow, and he's a genius."
